Floyd Mayweather Jr. is considered to be one of the greatest boxers of all time. His winning records and amiable skills say it all. Mayweather was born on 24th February 1977 in the US. He was actually born & brought up in a boxing family. His father & two uncles were professional boxers as well. So naturally, he grew up in boxing gyms & started his training at a very early age.
Initially Mayweather’s father Floyd Sr. used to train him but after his father was arrested & sentenced to serve prison time he was trained by his uncle. Mayweather learnt a huge deal from them especially those amazing defending skills (shoulder roll in particular) which have helped him since his amateur days.
Mayweather is 43 years of age now. He is a professional boxer with 173 cm (5 ft 8 inch) of height and his reach is up to 183 cm (72 inches). He fights with a traditional orthodox stance, meaning he uses his right hand as the power hand while fighting.
Despite losing parental love and care at a very early age Mayweather kept doing his best to hone his skills and taking care of himself on his own. It was his grandmother who noticed his potentials in the first place & inspired him to take boxing as a serious career option. Since then, Mayweather didn’t need to look back. He is a champion boxer and one of the greatest of all time.
